Friends of New Canaan Public School Theatre has been established to raise funds to support the Performing Arts programs of the New Canaan Public Schools. We organized in 2006 in response to an invitation received by the High School Drama Department to perform at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the summer of 2007. In January 2007, we organized the first ever Drama Department Alumni Musical, the "Fringe Benefit." More than 40 NCHS alumni returned to take the stage once more to reprise numbers from past High School productions, including Guys & Dolls, Once Upon a Mattress, Oliver, Barnum, Grease, and Hello Dolly. To date we have raised more than $70,000 to help offset the $170,000 cost of supporting the High School's Edinburgh production of Pippin.
