The Cast of Pippin played by the New Canaan High School Theatre Group

Friends of New Canaan Public School Theatre has been established to raise funds to support the Performing Arts programs of the New Canaan Public Schools.

We organized in 2006 in response to an invitation received by the High School Drama Department to perform at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the summer of 2007. In January 2007, we organized the first ever Drama Department Alumni Musical, the "Fringe Benefit." More than 40 NCHS alumni returned to take the stage once more to reprise numbers from past High School productions, including Guys & Dolls, Once Upon a Mattress, Oliver, Barnum, Grease, and Hello Dolly.

To date we have raised more than $70,000 to help offset the $170,000 cost of supporting the High School's Edinburgh production of Pippin. If you are interested in assisting this effort, please click on the Make a Donation button on this screen.

On an ongoing basis, Friends of New Canaan Public School Theatre will continue to raise funds to support various performing arts projects in our schools. Planned activities include:

Scholarships for Summer Programs in the Performing Arts
Capital Improvements to the schools' venues via a Public/Private sponsorship effort
Promote broader participation in National and Regional Performing Arts Festivals
